Submitting to the Quest

The Quest is very open to submissions from all members of the Reed College community. The deadline for submtting articles and images each week is Friday at 5 pm, sent to quest@reed.edu. Please attach articles to the email as .doc files; writing the article in the email itself is harder on the Questboard, and file formats other than .doc may not be readable. If you do not include a title, the Quest will be forced to come up with one for you. Your article or image will be credited to you unless you specifically request otherwise (e.g. anonymity or a pseudonym). Sending it in before the deadline does not guarantee your submission's inclusion in the Quest, and the Questboard reserves the right to refuse any individual piece of work on any grounds, with or without telling you. If your submission is accepted, though, remember to keep checking your email in case the Quest has any questions for you about it.

If you want to write a regular "column" of any kind, you are recommended to talk to the Questboard first to make sure it is of a kind they would be interested in running. Please note that writing a regular column does not grant you immunity from deadlines, and the Quest is not obligated to put your work into the paper if you get it in past the deadline because you assume it's expected. News stories and editorials should be between 200 and 800 words; letters to the Queditors shouldn't exceed 250. If you would like to do a piece over 800 words, please contact the Quest Board beforehand so they may plan accordingly.

If you have any questions about the content on this page or anything else, please ask the Quest, either by going to the office (GCC 033B) while someone is in it or by emailing quest@reed.edu. Thank you!
